Create Custom Footer Using Xpro Theme Builder for Elementor
Before we get started, let’s discuss the theme builder interface and help you decide which one is right for you.
To create a custom footer for a website using the theme builder, you have two options. The first is to create a footer through the default WordPress dashboard. The second, and more user-friendly, way is by using the front-end panel of Xpro.Â
In my case, I’ll show you the easier way of creating a website footer by navigating to the front-end panel of Xpro.
So, let’s get started.
Step 1: Install and activate plugins:
Before creating a footer, it’s important to check certain requirements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free process.
Requirement:
- Xpro Free WordPress Theme
- Elementor Page Builder – Free
- Xpro free Theme Builder For Elementor
To install and activate these plugins, watch this video.
Have you done the installation? Cool..!
Now let’s move on to access the Xpro theme builder.
Step 2: Access Xpro Theme Builder on the Front End:
- To create a custom footer with Xpro, first, you will visit your WordPress website by clicking on the ‘visit site’.
- On the front end, click on the ‘Xpro icon’ located at the bottom left corner of the screen and access the theme builder dashboard.
- Navigate to the ‘footer section’ within the theme builder dashboard and create a new footer template. Name it according to your liking, and press enter.
- Now, hover over the newly created footer layout and click on the ‘edit icon’ to customize the settings of your footer layout.
- After clicking on the edit icon, the footer ‘edit layout’ setting will appear. Here, you can set conditions and assign user roles to your footer.
- There are two different conditions (display on condition and don’t display condition). This means you have the flexibility to showcase your customized footer across all pages of your website but exclude it from specific pages, such as a 404 page, by applying conditions accordingly.
- Following that, you will now set user roles. For example, you can assign a unique footer to regular visitors and create another one for premium subscribers. You can customize it based on different user roles.
- Next, we’ll set the status of the footer to “published.”
- Once you have done these modifications, simply click “update.”
- Then, click on ‘Elementor’ to design the footer using Elementor widgets.
Now you will be directed to the elementor editor page.
Here, you have two options for customizing your footer: creating it from scratch or using a pre-built footer template. In my case, I’ll pick the pre-built footer template from the Xpro Elementor addons template library and customize it.
However, if you prefer creating it from scratch, check out our latest guide on creating a header/footer with the theme builder.
Ok, let’s move on to pick a pre-built footer template for Elementor and customize it.
To access the Xpro template library, you must install and activate the XPro Elementor Addons – free from the WordPress directory.
Step 3: Customize Footer Using the Pre-Built Footer Template
- First, click on the Xpro icon to access the template library. Our pre-built footer templates are available in the block section.
- In this section, you can choose the footer layout according to your liking. I will use this one for now, but you can pick any other that suits your requirements.
- After selecting a footer template, you can start customizing it using the Elementor editor. You can add, remove, or edit any element of the footer according to your business requirements.
Note: Avoid using too many visual elements in your footer; try to keep it simple.
- To customize each widget, simply click on it. The widget features will be displayed in the widget panel. Then, you can customize them according to your preferences. I’ve already customized this footer in my video tutorial, so feel free to watch it for step-by-step customization.
Once you are happy with your footer, click on the Update button and preview it.
